Club Secretary's Calendar for the 2008 Season

The events in the SBA Calendar, on the whole, don't change much from year to year. However, Secretaries are requested to keep a copy of this Calendar and also to make it available to the Club Treasurer, Match Secretary etc. so that important information is received and acted upon. 

JAN
By 24th you should have received the form for Capitation and Competition entries. If you have not received them you can down load them from our Web-site at www.scottish-bowling.co.uk , or phone 01292-294623 SBA office..World Bowls Championships 12th-27th Christchurch New Zealand.
FEB

The 11th is the cutoff for changes to Club and Secretary details only if you have a postal problem for the 2008 Year Book; if you do not have a postal problem we will send your mail to the club address. 
The 29th is the last day for the SBA to receive your Capitation, Competition entries & Fees.
Any Club which fails to make payment of it's subscriptions or affiliation fees within thirty days of the due date shall not be entitled to any of the rights and privileges of membership of the Association as laid out in the Articles of Association page 16 section 13.3 . Tiger Bowls start in Hong Kong 28th to 7th March

MAR
By mid-March, District draws for the National Championship begin to be issued.  The dates depend on when all Competition entry forms have been received.
APR
District draws continue to be issued up until the end of April.
The World Cup singles start on the 8th venue WARILLA Australia .By the 3rd week Clubs should have received one copy of the Year Book, which will be posted direct from the printers. (Extra copies can be ordered but they will only be available from the SBA office please use the Web merchandising form )Some Districts will have started their District National Championship competitions, as dates are set by the District Secretary (Councilor/Director).World Junior Cup Venue WARILLA 8th April
MAY
District competitions continue to be played. The First Andrew Hamilton Trophy games start on the 10th May
JUN

Senior Trial date & venue TBC British Isles Championships start on Wednesday 25th June at Llandrindod Wells BC and Internationals start on Friday 28th June District finals are to be played by the 29th June.

JULY

AHT Quarter finals take place on 6th venues are Winner North v R/U East Broughty Castle Winner South v R/U West Abercorn Winner East v R/U North Duffus Park WinnerWest V R/U South Townholm AHT semi finals 13th July. Winner of 1 v Winner of 2 Chryston & District Winner 3 v Winner 4 Carrick Knowe. By the 14th clubs represented at the National Finals should have received the draw, entry tickets and instructions for players and their club President.   Scottish National Finals take place at Ayr Northfield on the 31st until the 2nd August

AUG
AHT finals at Ayr Northfield on the 3rd. The Junior trial will take place on Saturday 10th August at Kingswood BC Glasgow- Mixed Pairs Golden Charter Semi & Finals Ralston BC 23rd & 24th August.
SEP

The terms of any resolution or resolutions to be proposed at any AGM must be communicated in writing before the thirtieth day of September in each year to The Secretary of the company by the Board or by the Secretary or other authorized official of a District or by the authorized representative thereof who intends to propose the resolution.6th & 7th Junior Internationals Ayr Northfield. OCT
Any item of business which any member entitled to vote wishes to have placed on the AGM Agenda should be intimated in writing to the Secretary eight weeks prior to the Annual General Meeting in each year.(15th October)
NOV.
By the 26th clubs should have received the Notice of the AGM.
