At the S.B.A. Executive Board Meeting on Wednesday 21st May 2008 the following appointments were made

National Team Manager

George Sneddon

B.I.B.C. Players Organiser

Gordon Logan

George Sneddon has an excellent international and national record having won the following medals -

World Championships Team Gold Medal 2004

World Championships Team Silver Medal 2000

World Championships Fours Bronze Medal 2000

George has also played indoor at international level since 1995 to the present and outdoor since 1998

He has won 4 National Titles and was runner up 4 times.

The executive agreed that while George could not play at International level he could play at County level.

Gordon has been the S.B.A. Councillor for West Lothian since 2001.

He is a member of a well known and renowned bowling family and he has won many County and Club competitions

S. B. A. President Willie Cook said that we had received 6 excellent applications for the Manager's post, all very suitable. We were very fortunate that there were so many good candidates.He was pleased that for the first time the S.B.A.had appointed a Team Manager from outwith the Council, introducing external talent,as this showed our strong desire to take bowling into the 21st Century.
